A beautiful Thistle Medallion for a strong soul. I created this for my mom, who grew up in Glasgow. Then my aunt wanted one. Then I wanted one. Then my mom gave me grief for not listing this as a permanent creation online. So here we are ;)
Nature’s prickliest flower, the thistle is ubiquitous in Scotland where it is the national symbol. Known for its roughness and ability to thrive in harsh conditions, and rich in history and symbolism, many legends surround it and the flower has several interpretations as well. There are both negative and positive connections.
In Celtic regions, the thistle represents devotion, bravery, determination, and strength.
Crafted from .999 fine silver, the thistle is smashed into the metal clay, fired, oxidized, then polished.
Each medallion is about 9 g of silver.
